Unless you have been to one, you certainly cannot appreciate how fun it is to attend a four- year-old's belt promotion. You would be thoroughly entertained by the attempted push-ups to the punching and kicking sequences accompanied by pipsqueaked HI-YA's. Suddenly the hundreds of dollars and endless hours poured into my child's supposedly blossoming talent seemed a little worthwhile. Well, that, coupled with an ear to ear grin from my darling son.
